Brewed in České Budějovice, Czech Republic, since 1265, Budweiser Budvar is a delicious beer with a fresh hoppy taste and a lovely balance, owing to recipe of finest Saaz hops, Golden Moravian malt, freshest yeast and soft water drawn from the 300 metre deep wells. Budvar is brewed from nothing but local natural materials in a 100 days brewing cycle (ninety of these are taken up by the fermentation process).
The settlement of Budweis was created in 1265, the year in which the first Parliament was called in England. Those inhabitants of the new settlement who could pay their Council Tax, or its mediaeval equivalent, got brewing rights, leading to the establishment of the first breweries in the town. The inhabitants brewed a particularly good beer that early on stimulated its commercial production. Budweiser Buvar is still brewed near the site of this original settlement.
